Weekend Itinerary: 48 Hours in Beacon

Welcome sign in Beacon, NY

Beacon has been called the Brooklyn of the Hudson Valley — creative, stylish, and full of energy. Just 90 minutes from NYC, it’s a perfect weekend getaway or even a scouting trip if you’re thinking of making Dutchess County home. Here’s my ideal 48 hours in Beacon.

Day 1: Friday Night

Check in at The Roundhouse – Modern, industrial-chic hotel with stunning waterfall views.

Dinner at Melzingah Tap House – Elevated pub fare with a craft beer selection that never disappoints.

Evening Stroll on Main Street – Pop into boutique shops and take in Beacon’s small-town-meets-artist-colony vibe.

Day 2: Saturday

Breakfast at Beacon Bread Company – Fresh pastries, amazing omelets, and a cozy morning crowd.

Dia: Beacon – This world-class contemporary art museum is a must-see, set in a former Nabisco factory with enormous galleries.

Lunch at Beacon Falls Cafe – American Bistro with a carefully crafted menu. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere

Afternoon at Long Dock Park – Kayak, picnic, or just soak in the Hudson River views.

Dinner at The Roundhouse – Intimate dining with a seasonal, locally sourced menu.

Day 3: Sunday

Coffee at Bank Square Coffeehouse – The perfect caffeine fix before a morning hike.

Mount Beacon Hike – Challenging climb, incredible views — totally worth the effort.

Late Lunch at Ziatun – Lebanese-inspired dishes with fresh, bold flavors.

Shop Main Street Before Heading Home – Grab gifts, local art, or something for your new Hudson Valley home.

Wrap-Up:

Beacon packs a ton into a compact, walkable city — whether you’re there for the art, the outdoors, or just the food. And if you fall in love with it (you probably will), I can show you what’s available in the area.
